Galvalume, a registered trademark of BIEC International Corporation, is a steel substrate coating made of 55% aluminum and 45% zinc that greatly extends the life of steel. Used extensively in metal building, metal roofing, architectural panel, and outdoor construction related products, Galvalume steel is available in bare, acrylic coated, and prepainted.
Galvalume steel and prepainted Galvalume steel's manufacturing process is similar to hot-dipped galvanized steel. The substrate is run through a bath of molten 55% aluminum and 45% zinc which adheres to the steel substrate. The product is known for its long life, particularly in roofing applications.
